Dr Katerina Athanasiou is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a particular interest in the investigation and treatment of female infertility.

She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Switzerland at the University Hospitals of Geneva, Fribourg and Nyon. She spent two years conducting research in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, as part of Dr Witkin’s research group, where she contributed to several publications focusing on the microbiome and autophagy.

She obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Gynaecological Endocrinology from the University of Geneva, with her thesis focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in reproductive medicine.

Since 2023, Dr Athanasiou has been working at IVF Athens Center, while also pursuing her PhD in infertility at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Her goal is to make high-quality fertility care and IVF treatment accessible to all those who need support in building their family, while providing personalised, evidence-based care throughout their fertility journey.
