Florentia Bakomitrou
Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology of the University of Athens
Florentia Bakomitrou is a Psychotherapist and Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology of the University of Athens with specialization in Diabetes Mellitus and Eating Disorders. She holds a degree in Psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, from where she also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is a graduate of the Postgraduate Program in Interconnective Psychiatry at the General Hospital of the Medical School of the National Academy of Athens, as well as a graduate of the Postgraduate Program in Management of Health Units of the Open University. In addition, she is a graduate of the Department of Education and Training in Preschool age of the University of Athens and also holds a degree of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Athens.
For the last 20 years she has been practicing clinical and educational psychotherapy in public and private nursing and university contexts while she was an associate of the University of Athens for many years. She has been retrained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and in Family Therapy, in Compassion-Focused Therapy and in Cinema-therapy, while she continues to train in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and in Guided Music Therapy (GMI). She is a member of the Hellenic and European Association of Psychologists. Finally, since 1999 she has been a constant participant in foreign and Greek conferences and seminars, has made numerous presentations-publications and has participated in collective publications.
