Oocyte vitrification, commonly known as egg freezing, is nowadays an innovative, widespread and safe technique for a woman to maintain and preserve her fertility, until she is ready for motherhood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Oocyte vitrification can be applied for either female or male reasons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Regarding female reasons vitrification is indicated not only for women who wish to have children in the future, but also for those who have medical history (low AMH, high FSH or indications of early menopause) or face various ethical reasons . It is highly recommended in cases of health issues when chemotherapy or radiation therapy is required (ovarian tissue can be cryopreserved too).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Male reasons could be the long period absence of the spouse, difficulty in producing sperm and medical reasons (serious health issues or dysfunction of the male gonads).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
