This procedure mimics natural conception since the fertilization of the oocyte by spermatozoa happens in the female genital tract (fallopian tube).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #b02e85\">The procedure can be applied and suggested:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For cases with <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #b02e85\">unexplained infertility<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When the woman has at least one fallopian tube open and healthy<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the sperm does not seriously compromise man\u2019s fertility<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For cases with sexual dysfunction that prevent the egg and sperm from meeting in the female genital tract<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">IUI\u00a0boosts the chances of pregnancy by placing specially prepared sperm, directly in the uterus through a special thin catheter, around the time of ovulation (the time an ovary releases one or more eggs). The hoped-for outcome is for the sperm and egg to unite in the fallopian tube and if this happens, it leads to pregnancy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #b02e85\">Homologous IUI<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That is when the sperm comes from the woman\u2019s spouse. Although pregnancy rates are historically low and usually multiple IUIs needed to have success, the treatment is preferred by women, because it is easy and well tolerated, it is less invasive, requiring little or no medication, and has a low cost compared to IVF.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #b02e85\">IUI Heterologous<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In this case the sperm belongs to a donor. It could be the main option in case of azoospermia, in the presence of serious diseases that can be genetically transmitted by the father, or for single women.<\/span><\/p>\n            <\/p>\n        <\/div>\n\n        \n    <\/div>\n\n        \n<\/section>\n\n\n    <section class=\"services-faqs reverse\" id=>\r\n\r\n                    <div class=\"ivf-container ivf-small-container section-title-wrap\">\r\n                <h3 class=\"section-title\">\r\n                    FAQs About IUI                <\/h3>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        \r\n        <div class=\"ivf-container ivf-small-container section-content-wrap\">\r\n            <div class=\"text\">\r\n                <div class=\"faq\">\r\n\r\n                                            <h4 class=\"faq-title active\">\r\n                            Is there anyone IUI isn\u2019t right for?                        <\/h4>\r\n                        <div class=\"faq-desc\">\r\n                            <span class=\"faq-desc-content\">\r\n                                <ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have blocked fallopian tubes,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> severe endometriosis or low follicle reserve with\/or low egg quality (low ovarian reserve) IUI is not for you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Besides, the chances of success at ages over 35 decrease\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Note!!<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> If you\u2019re in your late 30s or over 40 you might also be advised to have IVF even if IUI is appropriate for you.
